Trolls and Princesses (Bil)

Trolls are not big and stupid, as many would have you believe. Not long ago, they lived among us and used their cunning magic to resemble us.
They lived in the mountains with their livestock. Their caves were beautiful and luxurious, with lots of silver, gold and precious stones, and a table full of delicious food. In Sweden there is an expression for this: "Rich as a troll".

Trolls were not evil if they were not treated badly, they could even be useful to those who treated them well. But they often played tricks on humans. Their magical power (trollkraft) could distort the vision of humans, so that the troll looked like a human, an animal, a log or a stone, and could even become invisible. But they also had some weaknesses. They couldn't stand the sound of church bells or steel, let alone the sight of the sun.

Trolls & Princesses is a “worker movement” game. You play as one of the four clans of trolls and, to gain favor with the King of the Mountains, you try to impress him. Players earn favors (in the form of victory points) for doing what trolls usually do: trading changelings, "hiring" humans, tearing down church bells, kidnapping princesses, building their cave and use troll magic. To succeed, players must collect resources and move their trolls to perform different actions. The player who obtains the most victory points at the end of the game can proclaim themselves leader of the troll clan.
