The B-52 Stratofortress™ is an American long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber. It was designed and built by Boeing, which has continued to support and modernize it. The B-52 has been a mainstay of the U.S. Air Force since 1955, and is expected to remain in service until 2050. The bomber can carry up to 70,000 pounds of weapons and has a range of around 8,800 miles.
