The Fifth Element is the first expansion for Big Book of Madness! It introduces a new spellbook, new monsters, new magicians... but also new gameplay mechanics, to be played independently or combined!

Unknown or denied by most magicians, the terrifying Dark Matter is as powerful as it is devastating. However, you must master it to activate the incredible spells contained in the Black Book, defeat the black monsters, and annihilate the black curses!

Fortunately for you, the new magicians may be better prepared for this perilous endeavor!

Another new mechanic is the introduction of Phobias! These are particularly powerful insanities that can lead to the downfall of your magician! Unlike insanities, Phobias have a permanent effect and remain attached to the character until they manage to heal themselves. It's up to you to manage this now implacable threat.

With 13 new spell cards and 4 new magicians, but above all, with two new particularly comprehensive (and tricky!) mechanics, Big Book of Madness increases in intensity while maintaining the smoothness of the base game. More relentless than ever, it will encourage players to cooperate more effectively than ever before in hopes of closing this terrifying spellbook!
