White Castle is the castle of Himeji, erected in Feudal Japan, where the banner of the Sakai clan flies under the orders of Daimio Sakai Tadakiyo. It's a lively place, with warriors, gardeners and courtiers all carrying out their respective tasks.
In the game, players take on the role of minor clan leaders vying for their position and their clan's future in the court of the White Heron. Shrewd and timely management of resources and placement of family members within Himeji Castle will be the key to victory.
White Castle is a Eurogame that combines resource management, worker placement and dice placement mechanics. Over the course of the game, divided into three rounds, players send members of their clan to tend the gardens, defend the castle or move up the nobility's social ladder. At the end of the game, these actions award victory points to players in a variety of ways.
