Sir Gregor Clegane was a knight of House Clegane, Sandor Clegane's older brother, and a notoriously fearsome warrior, extremely deadly and much feared, with a tendency towards extreme and excessive violence. Because of his size, he is known as "The Mountain". After being poisoned in a duel with Oberyn Martell, Gregor nearly succumbed to the effects of manticore venom, but was kept alive by Qyburn's experiments. With a dulled mind and a necrotically invincible body, Gregor served as a loyal royal guard to Cersei Lannister.
