DONUTS, which was first playable under the name INSERT, is a two-player abstract strategy game in which you try to line up five rings of your color to win.

To setup, arrange the four 3x3 tiles randomly in a 6x6 grid. Each grid square has a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line. The first player places one of their rings on any unoccupied square, and the line in this space indicates the direction in which the opponent must place their ring: vertically, horizontally or diagonally in line with the ring they are in.
