The Tang dynasty was considered the first golden age of classical Chinese gardens, and is now emblematic. Emperor Xuanzong built the magnificent Imperial Garden on majestic Clear Lake as a tribute to life itself and from whence he reigned. Players will take on the role of imperial garden designers and will be called upon to build the most incredible garden while balancing the elements of nature.
Tang Garden is a Zen-like game that will take you back to China's first golden age, where players will gradually build a garden by creating the landscape, placing the scenery and projecting their vision through vertical panoramas. During construction, nobles will visit the garden to admire the surroundings and the way natural elements coexist in the most breathtaking landscapes mankind has ever seen.
Players take it in turns to play one of the two actions available in the game:
1) Place tiles and match elements to increase their personal nature balance and unlock more character figurines.
By balancing nature elements on player boards, players will attract new characters to the garden. On each player's turn, if the elements are balanced, the player will have to choose a figurine from those available and finally decide which of the characters will be placed in the garden, orienting them towards their preferred background, while keeping the other with you to continue exploiting its ability.
2) Draw decoration cards and place one on the board to gain prestige by completing collections.
Players draw a quantity of cards according to the situation on the board and choose one to keep. Players must then place the chosen decoration in one of the available garden locations, creating a unique, seamless scenario that will never be the same again.
During the game, by placing tiles on special parts of the board, you'll be able to place a panoramic tile, a new element that adds an endless perspective for visitors. Large and small panoramas will be placed perpendicular to the board by attaching it to the board insert, creating a homogeneous look on all four sides of the board. Panoramas will interact with characters at the end of the game, awarding prestige points based on what your visitor sees and likes.
At the end of the game, the most prestigious player is the winner.
